The NSS Units of Smt. A.S.M. College for Women, Ballari in association with Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Ballari, had organised Swami Vivekananda's Jayanti on 12th January 2019 in the College Campus.

The Principal of the College Dr.S.Y.Thimma Reddy presided over the event. The Secretary of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama Sri.Jagannath in his key note addressed that "Students must cultivate the main two positive attitudes of Discipline and Service". These two attitudes could elevate the career of the students. He urged the students to follow the life and achievements of Swami Vivekananda. The main orator Mr.Rajashekhar addressed the students and explained the glory and greatness of Swami Vivekananda, who spread the glory, heritage and culture of India over and across the World. He cited the messages and thoughts of Swami Vivekananda who believed that living for others and nation is the true meaning and purpose of life. He explained the life and achievements of Swami Vivekananda who represented India to Chicago conference and addressed the audience as Brothers and Sisters. He concluded that for even today Swami Vivekananda remains as a Role Model for the Youth and Students.

The Principal Dr.S.Y.Thimmareddy addressed the gathering and explained that sincerity, honesty, dedication, truthfulness and patriotism were the ideals of Swami Vivekananda who preached and practiced these ideals over across the world. The NSS Officers Mr.U.Somashekhar welcomed the guests and Mr.U.Chandrashekhar proposed the vote of thanks. The College Staff & Students participated in the programme.
