Programme Report
On 10-04-2026, a special lecture program was organized on the occasion of "Akkamahadevi Jayanti" by the Kannada Department and the Bharat Scouts and Guides—Smt. Allum Sumangalamma Ranger Unit. The program was presided over by Smt. Kathyayani M. Maridevaiah, CGC Chairperson; Dr. Kalavathi B.G., Professor of Kannada, Government First Grade College, Moka, participated as a special lecturer and spoke on the subject of devotion and rebellion in the vachanas of Akkamahadevi. Dr. Dupam Satheesh, principal of the college, participated as the chief guest and spoke on the life and achievements of Akkamahadevi. Smt. Kathyayani M. Maridevaiah told the students about the problems faced by Akkamahadevi while entering the Anubhav Mantapa in the 12th century and that Akkamahadevi's life is a great role model for today's youth through her preceding words. Dr. Syeda K. Tanveer, IQAC coordinator of the college, was present at the program. Dr. Suvarnamma D, Head of the Kannada Department, welcomed the guests of the program. Mr. J. Satish, Lecturer of the Kannada Department, introduced the special lecturers. Dr. Mangala B.N., lecturer of the Kannada Department, compered the program. Mrs. Y. Poornima, Head of the Economics Department, offered the vote of thanks. Kumari K.M. Chetanya, a 6th-semester student of B.A., sang a prayer song. All the teaching and non-teaching staff and students of the college participated in this program.
