REPORT ON INAUGURATION OF STITCHING TRAINING PROGRAMME – 2026
The Stitching Training Program – 2026 was inaugurated on 16th April 2026 at 11:00AM in the Seminar Hall, organized by the Alumni Association under the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college. Ms. Deepthi of the BSc-6th semester invocated the event. The program commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Mamata, who greeted all the dignitaries, staff, and students present on the occasion. During the inaugural session, the trainer, Smt. Rohinaz, Faculty of Chemistry and also convener of the Alumni Association, provided an insightful overview of the training program. She explained the objectives, structure, and benefits of the stitching course, emphasizing skill development and self-employment opportunities for students. The president of the Alumni Association, Smt. Susheela Shirur, expressed her keen interest and enthusiasm towards stitching and skill-based training. She encouraged students to actively participate and make the best use of the opportunity. The principal briefly addressed the gathering, highlighting the functions and importance of the Alumni Association. He also spoke about the significance of such training programs in empowering students and enhancing their practical skills. A notable contribution was made by the treasurer, Smt. Shambhavi, who generously donated three stitching machines in the name of Dr. SWAROOPA RANI.H., an alumna and the former assistant professor of chemistry at Smt. ASM College for Women, Ballari. The Alumni Association, in memory of a former Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Dr. H. SWAROOPA RANI, made this gesture, which was appreciated by all and added great value to the program. The event was smoothly coordinated by Mrs. Shubha, faculty of the botany department, ensuring the successful conduct of the program. The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Pallavi, faculty from the Botany Department, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, organizers, and participants. The program witnessed the presence of IQAC Coordinator Dr. Syeda K. Tanveer; Ms. Mamatha, Faculty of Commerce Department; various heads of departments; teaching and non-teaching staff; and a large number of students, making the event a grand success.
