Special Lecture on Women’s Rights and Central Government Schemes for Women Empowerment

On 06.11.2026, the Women Empowerment Cell and the Department of Economics, under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), jointly organised a special lecture at Seminar Hall on the topic “Women’s Rights and Central Government Schemes for Women Empowerment.” The programme was presided over by Smt. Kathyayini M. Maridevaiah, Chairperson of the College Governing Council. Sri Sadhana Hiremath, Advocate, Ballari, participated as the resource person and delivered a special lecture on women's rights, legal protection and various schemes implemented by the Central Government for women's empowerment. Through his informative lecture, she created awareness among the students about women's rights and legal provisions available for their protection and empowerment. Dr. Dupam Satheesh, Principal of the College, highlighted the objectives and significance of the programme and explained the importance of women's empowerment in the present society. His valuable introductory remarks inspired the students and encouraged them to develop confidence and awareness. In her presidential address, Smt. Kathyayini M. Maridevaiah stated that when a woman progresses educationally, economically, socially and politically, the entire family also achieves overall development. Therefore, building self-confidence among women is of utmost importance. She further emphasised that such programmes help students gain legal awareness along with academic knowledge and understand their rights and the measures available for their protection. Dr. Mangala B.N., Lecturer, Department of Kannada, welcomed the dignitaries and participants. Smt. Srivani G., Head of the Department of Computer Science, introduced the resource person. Smt. Poornima Y., Head of the Department of Economics, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Anupama K., Head of the Department of Commerce, compered the programme. Dr. Syeda  K. Fatima Tanveer, IQAC Coordinator, Dr. Suvarnamma D., Coordinator of the Women Empowerment Cell, teaching faculty members and students actively participated in the programme. Overall, the special lecture was meaningful and successful in creating awareness among students about women's rights, legal protection, government welfare schemes and the importance of women’s empowerment.

ದಿನಾಂಕ:06-11-2026ರಂದು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಅಲ್ಲo ಸುಮಂಗಳಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಮಾರಕ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಂತರಿಕ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಭರವಸೆ ಕೋಶದ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ ಕೋಶ ಮತ್ತು ಅರ್ಥಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದಿಂದ ವಿಶೇಷ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಕಾತ್ಯಾಯಿನಿ ಎo. ಮರಿದೇವಯ್ಯ ರವರು ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಸಾಧನ ಹಿರೇಮಠ, ವಕೀಲರು ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ, ಇವರು ವಿಶೇಷ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ, ಮಹಿಳಾ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇರುವಂತಹ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳು ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಕುರಿತು ವಿಶೇಷ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ ನೀಡಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸಿದರು. ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ದೂಪಂ ಸತೀಶ್ ರವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಉದ್ದೇಶ, ಮಹತ್ವ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣದ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಚೈತನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಕಾತ್ಯಾಯಿನಿ ಎo. ಮರಿದೇವಯ್ಯ ರವರು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಹಿಳೆ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕವಾಗಿ, ಆರ್ಥಿಕವಾಗಿ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕವಾಗಿ, ರಾಜಕೀಯವಾಗಿ, ಬೆಳೆದಾಗ ಆ ಕುಟುಂಬವು ಸಹ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಅತಿ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕಾನೂನಿನ ಅರಿವು ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವು ಹೇಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಸಹಾಯಕವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯ ನುಡಿಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ಮಂಗಳ ಬಿ. ಎನ್ ಇವರು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಗಣಕ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಶ್ರೀವಾಣಿ ಜಿ ಇವರು ವಿಶೇಷ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರ ಪರಿಚಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅರ್ಥಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮ ವೈ ಇವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿದರು. ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಡಾ. ಅನುಪಮ ಕೆ ಇವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ IQAC ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ಸೈದ ಕೆ ಫಾತಿಮಾ ತನ್ವೀರ್ ರವರು, ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ ಕೋಶದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ಸುವರ್ಣಮ್ಮ ಡಿ ರವರು, ಕಲಾವಿ ಭಾಗದ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರು ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
